The fifth of the five layers of profound meanings is called “classification of teachings“. Every sutra that the Buddha taught is equivalent to a “teaching”. In order to save sentient beings, the Buddha taught many Dharmas, some of which are very profound and some are very shallow. Don’t think that this “Amitabha Sutra” or teachings of the “Pure Land” is very shallow.

It is because all the Buddhas of past, present, and future all come from this sutra. This sutra is also classified as the perfect complete teaching by the Buddha.

But it also carries a kind of “convenience” meaning in it, which is the very important part of this sutra.

The above teachings of the Five Layers of Profound Meaning have not talked about the sutra yet, but these Five Layers of Profound Meaning have all been explained. The sutra text will be explained from next week. We will stop here today!
