In lecture 1, His Holiness Living Buddha Lian Sheng announces why he wants to talk about the Amitabha Sutra and explains his lineage to it. Rather directly explaining the Amitabha Sutra, he will use one of his teacher’s commentaries as a basis for discussion. He begins, and our first exposition leads to a lively conversation about Shakyamuni Buddha’s intense search for the ultimate truth in order to save all sentient beings from suffering.
